The majority of the streets and laneways in Churchlands Green are named after native Australian flora.

For example, Honeypot Way is named after the shrub Honeypot Dryandra (also called Banksia Nivea) - a species of shrub that is native to Western Australia.

Several streets (e.g. University Avenue) are named to honour Edith Cowan University (ECU) that existed previously on the site.
