5 Appleberry Street in Churchlands has literally risen from the ashes.
In 2020, a fire destroyed the rear portion of the Churchlands Green property. According to news articles, the fire was caused by a plumber who hit a gas pipe during the installation of an outdoor shower. A neighbour was able to film the blaze as fire crews were arriving.

Sadly, the kitchen, living and dining areas, laundry, alfresco area, and double garage were all impacted by the fire.
After several years of disputes with insurance companies, the owners sold the property in November of 2023. Although the rear section was neatly stripped back, the house was sold as a restoration project or even a knock down and start over.

Fast forward to February 2025, and the new owners have just completed an exquisite restoration, and is now for sale through Michael Hallam.
In many ways, this property represents the newest and most modern property in all of Churchlands Green. After all, half of the house is essentially brand new.

The restored home features a spacious, open plan living area with a gas log fire for cold winter nights. The kitchen contains generous bench space, stone bench tops, and a long island bench with breakfast bar.
This gourmet kitchen also contains a suite of Siemens appliances including two ovens, integrated dishwasher, range hood, and an induction 900mm cooktop.

A glass sliding door leads out to the alfresco area for year-round entertaining. The outdoor area also contains a low maintenance landscaped garden, aggregate surrounds, and an outdoor kitchen with Beefeater Signature BBQ.
A stylish wide-open staircase with amazing glass view of the fish pond below is a signature feature of this home. The staircase leads up to the upper level where you’ll find a huge living room with floor to ceiling sheer curtains and a lovely lush, treed vista.
5 Appleberry Street is truly a statement in style and has been renovated to the highest standards. The home boasts a commanding street presence and contains a beautifully landscaped front garden.

The property today is a far cry from the condition it was in during the sale in November of 2023. It is quite possibly the most significant restoration project ever completed in Churchlands Green.
The owners of 5 Appleberry Street (who sold in 2023) must be acknowledged for their hardships. They would have endured incredible stress and inconvenience over a number of years from an incident that was no fault of their own. We hope that these previous owners can take some comfort knowing that their once home has now been restored into one of Churchlands Green's finest properties. Key specifications:
